<g:title>Dinosaur Jr. "There Near"</g:title>
<g:description>Finally! The sixth studio album Dinosaur Jr. Have recorded in the 20 years since their triumphal rebirth. Created in short, intense bursts over the course of a year at Amherst's Bisquiteen Studio, There Near was recorded almost entirely by Dino's core trio - king of the thunder tubs, Murph, human tornado Lou Barlow on bass/vocals and the inimitable J Mascis on guitar/vocals - with a bit of piano and organ work by local master musician, Ken Mauri. And the album roars from start to finish. Trying to define the essence of Dino's sound is never easy. It's an instantly recognizable blend of loose vocals, sharp guitars and an animalistic rhythm section, but these parts combine into a whole far more magical and exciting than it's components. J's guitar tone throughout There Near is even more animalistic than usual, perhaps owing partly to the fact he's playing through a recently acquired 70's Mesa Boogie MK 1 amp. "I bought the same amp that Chris Dixon had when we made our first album," J says. "Chris recorded us at his house with his amp. It has a real interesting sound I haven't gotten for a while. And it's something I was trying to get back to on this album."Asked about the philosophical opacity of his lyrical approach, J says. "I'm not always sure what a song is 'about' when I'm writing it. I guess the meaning will present itself at some point. I'll use whatever words work. And a lot of it will be influenced by whatever esoteric mumbo jumbo I'm reading at the time. I try not to think too hard about any of it. Someone suggested this album sounds more upbeat, but I guess that's to do with my delivery, because lyrics like 'No Friends' might make you think otherwise. But I usually write in the third person. It's all just make believe."While it's true There Near does present a slightly softer lyrical edge on some of J's songs, even a relatively gorgeous ballad like "Put It Down" eventually explodes in a shower of fiery guitar distentions. It's just what happens. Meanwhile the two tunes provided by Lou - "Blowin' Up" and "No One's Ready" - may have less frenzied musical settings, but their lyrics sound like pointed and timely attacks on our current regime. As is so often the case, Lou's melodic constructions have a friendly mien, but his lyrics cut like knives. There Near continues Dinosaur Jr.'s string of classic albums. The new songs are sure to sound amazing with their monstrous riffs blaring from live stages amidst their historical brethren. Can't wait to catch them live, but in the meantime There Near will be a constant companion. The nearer the better.</g:description>

      <g:title>Jack White "Frozen Charlotte"</g:title>
<g:description>Frozen Charlotte - the 7th studio album from Jack White shows the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer at his best; backed by an incredible band (Patrick Keeler on drums, Dominic Davis on bass, Bobby Emmett on keys) whose collective hand is scorching hot after coming off a tour of universally-acclaimed performances. Instead of resting on a “job well done”, they went straight to work in the studio and laid down what became Frozen Charlotte.Recorded in White's Third Man Studio in Nashville, this album shows Jack carrying on the same raucous, raw, and frenetic energy from his lauded 2024 album, No Name. 13 tracks of distinct feel and tone, Frozen Charlotte is an intense rock and roll punch with never far behind blues underpinnings… all of which fits right at home with long time fans while leaving an inviting open door to newcomers alike.</g:description>

      <g:title>The Cramps “Gravest Gravy” CD</g:title>
<g:description>The CD release “Gravest Gravy” by The Cramps brings together, for the first time, recordings from the Ardent studio sessions of October 1977 that were overseen at the time by Alex Chilton and are now being made publicly available. The compilation presents early takes and previously unreleased versions of songs that would later resurface on “Psychedelic Jungle” and other releases by the band, offering insight into the formative phase of a trailblazing rock ’n’ roll underground outfit.

Musically, “Gravest Gravy” showcases the characteristic Cramps sound: a rawness that fuses rockabilly, garage, surf, and psychedelic elements, driven by Poison Ivy’s distorted guitar riffs and Lux Interior’s distinctive vocal delivery. The repertoire ranges from rough cover versions like “Hungry” and “Rocket In My Pocket” to early studio takes of “The Natives Are Restless,” “Can’t Find My Mind,” and “Rockin’ Bones,” giving the record both historical significance and documentary value.

For this edition, the original tracks from seven quarter-inch tape reels were transferred; the tapes were handled by Brian Kehew, the track selection was made in collaboration with Henry Rollins, and additional work was carried out at Inner Ear and Infrasonic Sound (with engineers and mastering brought in accordingly). The release appears on Vengeance and presents early, defining moments in the band’s history in reconstructed form.</g:description>

<g:description>Scream and Soulside first played together at the Cubby Bear in Chicago in July 1988. After a few more shows together that year, they didn’t share a stage again until July 2022, at the Inne Brzmienia festival in Lublin, Poland. There in Poland the two bands met minds, and a match was struck. Soulside and Scream soon released new albums on Dischord Records, then toured together in the US and Europe in 2023 and 2024. This 7" is a gathering of forces and musical admiration to spread a message of love and a lifelong commitment to the struggle for true American justice.

“Laissez-Faire” was written by Scream and first appeared on Still Screaming (Dischord, 1983). This version is performed by Soulside and was recorded and mixed in June 2025. “Reconstruction” was written by Soulside and fi rst appeared on A Brief Moment in the Sun (Dischord, 2022). This version is performed by Scream and was recorded in September 2024.

Songs of massive riffs, swung, tightly arrayed lines of fuzz & distortion, twin-guitar attack-and-parry, endopic keyboards kicking, precise & thudding power, a rhythmic core on the march in full BAND energy. The songs are lyrically allusive trips, dark passages in the labyrinth, everything in the air bristling collectively, as minds collide. RIYL: PiL, Flipper, Emotional Mugger</g:description>

<g:title>Making Music: Conversations with Record Producers by Larry Crane (Akashic)</g:title>
<g:description>This book is a collection of interviews with people who have made records with some of the biggest names in music. Along the way, they might be engineering the recordings, picking the songs, guiding the singers, picking the best takes of songs, balancing egos, fixing the lyrics, booking the studio time, buying lunch, playing instruments, pushing artists further, writing or cowriting the songs, selecting the musicians to use, overseeing the mixes, and many other tasks. Making records is always a combination of many skills and goals, and the producer needs to have what it takes to make the session productive and the music compelling.

In this book, interviewees include people who have worked with the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Public Enemy, Taylor Swift, Bob Dylan, P!nk, U2, Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson, Wu-Tang Clan, David Bowie, T.Rex, Johnny Cash, Aretha Franklin, Amy Winehouse, Paul McCartney, Dolly Parton, Duran Duran, the Replacements, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, Kendrick Lamar, Tom Petty, and Sabrina Carpenter, plus more. And that’s just the beginning of the credits these producers—Brian Eno, Finneas, Glyn Johns, Hank Shocklee, Jack Antonoff, Joe Boyd, Jon Brion, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Linda Perry, Mark Ronson, RZA, Sasami, Steve Lillywhite, Susan Rogers, T Bone Burnett, and many others—collectively hold.

All of these interviews come from the pages of Tape Op magazine, founded in 1996 by editor Larry Crane. Over the last thirty years, along with publisher John Baccigaluppi, Tape Op has become the world’s deepest archive of conversations about the art and science of recording music, and is still an active, print-based magazine with the highest circulation of any recording magazine in the world.

<g:title>Even the Good Girls Will Cry begins by Melissa Auf der Maur (Da Capo Press) Hardcover</g:title>
      <g:description>NATIONAL BESTSELLER
INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER

A remarkably open-hearted, clear-eyed memoir of the '90s Alternative era by the bassist of Hole and The Smashing Pumpkins.

Even the Good Girls Will Cry begins with Melissa Auf der Maur’s bohemian upbringing in Montreal, where her early, deep connection to art and music gave her entry to the colorful and thriving local creative scene. Working as a cassette DJ and ticket girl, she would see (and sometimes meet) the luminaries who’d pass through town—Nirvana, Jane's Addiction, Pavement, Sonic Youth. Thanks to a thrown beer bottle and a long-shot fan letter to a PO Box, her band Tinker scored a life-changing opening slot for The Smashing Pumpkins and, sensing her natural talent on bass, Billy Corgan recommended her to Courtney Love, just one of the many uncanny threads that weaves destiny throughout this riveting memoir.</g:description>

<g:title>Bad Coffee For Bad People </g:title>
      <g:description>Read between the beans.

Tobacco and dark chocolate come in low and fuzzed out, then vanilla rides over the top like a hook nobody saw coming. It swings where most dark roasts just stomp. The name is the only bad thing about it, and we are keeping the name.

We couldn't help ourselves. Stephen Blickenstaff drew that thing on Halloween night in 1983, green and spiky and unwell, a caricature of Lux Interior himself. It hit the sleeve in '84 and has been on bedroom walls and battle jackets ever since. Eleven songs deep, Garbageman and Human Fly and Goo Goo Muck, the toonz that built the lore.

Now it comes back as your new favorite f'cked up blend: Brazilian from Minas Gerais, washed Guatemalan from Lake Antigua, taken dark on purpose. Drink it hot, drink it cold, or don't, and just ditch yer pals for an afternoon with the bug-eyed ghoul.

Officially licensed Cramps coffee, roasted in Detroit, twelve ounces, shipping August 21 alongside Gravest Gravy. For the night owls, the second shifters, and anyone whose taste in music has ever been called a problem. Corky sez: don't be a drip, pour something hot over that tired ritual of yours. Strictly limited. When it's gone, it's gone.

<g:title>STRANDED IN THE FUTURE by Robyn Hichcock</g:title>
<g:description>STRANDED IN THE FUTURE is a kind of dystopian self-portrait. It’s about obsession, and obsessive behavior. Spanning from 1968 to 1978, it takes in the mythology that teenagers weave around their musical heroes and their early loves: in this case, one specific hero and one specific love. The book explores the way that Hitchcock, in his own head, linked these two figures to each other, although they never actually met.

On the way, the story mines the incremental hangover of the 1970s as Hitchcock begins to play live, teaches himself to write songs, and eventually forms the Soft Boys. There’s a side order of trolleybuses too! Hitchcock’s beautiful prose will resonate far beyond the fans of his music, and build on the literary following he established with his first book, 1967: How I Got There and Why I Never Left.</g:description>

      <g:title>Brainiac: Transmissions After Zero</g:title>
<g:description>An exploration of the seminal 90's rock band Brainiac, its creative force Tim Taylor and the tragedy they overcame.

In the mid 90's the Dayton, OH music scene became a hot spot generating worldwide buzz from the influential indie rock being produced there (The Breeders, Guided by Voices). Arguably the most innovative of them all was the band Brainiac, led by musical genius and insanely charismatic front man Tim Taylor. The band was opening for Beck and slated to sign a major label record deal when Taylor was tragically killed in a bizarre auto accident leaving his family and band mates to pick up the pieces. Over the past two decades Brainiac's music has gone on to influence the likes of Nine Inch Nails, The Mars Volta, The National and countless others.

This film explores the band's music, legacy, massive influence on pop culture and how people survive and cope with the loss of loved ones.

Featuring:

Brainiac
Buzz Osborne
Cedric Bizler-Zavala
David Yow
Eli Janney
Fred Armisen
Matt Berninger
Melissa Auf der Maur
Steve Albini

      <g:title>X The Unheard Music </g:title>
<g:description>"X The Unheard Music" takes long, detailed, and often funny look at the LA music scene of the late '70s and '80s and focuses on the group that critics had singled out as the leader of the underground pack. The Unheard Music is a documentary that combines live footage of the band and interviews with the four members (as well as their friends and families) with surreal music videos and montages of newsreel footage and vintage television commercials which help to illustrate X's uphill struggle against the music industry. Their story rings true even today. Bonus interviews and more.</g:description>

<g:description>This breathtaking performance displays why Bad Brains became one of the most important bands in the history of American Hardcore. On Christmas Eve 1982, Bad Brains began their three-day stint at a Hardcore Festival hosted by legendary CBGB. This DVD represents the very best of these shows, culled from over 4 hours of footage. Their live performances were legendary, their visual recordings were impossible to find. Now, for the first time on DVD, that powerful performance is revisited in extraordinary fashion.</g:description>

<g:title>The Most Interesting Man in the World by Vinnie Stigma</g:title>
<g:description>The Godfather of New York City hardcore and founding member of Agnostic Front invites you into his lower east side pad to regale you with tales from his extraordinary life among mobsters, punk rockers, and a bevy of iconic artists and personalities—none of whom is as interesting or fascinating as the inimitable Vinnie Stigma!

The Most Interesting Man in the World stretches from Vinnie’s upbringing in Little Italy amongst the tight-knit Italian families, as well as some prominent wiseguys, to teaming up with Cuban-born vocalist Roger Miret to carry punk’s angrier successor across the globe; from no-show jobs in his youth obtained by people who “protected” him, to lighting up some of the world’s biggest stages. However, Vinnie Stigma is not your run-of-the-mill rocker of many decades. He has dabbled in cooking, professional wrestling, acting, martial arts, yoga, and other creative disciplines. He is a father and a cancer survivor who helped pioneer skinhead and tattoo culture in America, and has mentored hundreds of fledgling musicians and artists. Vinnie insists he is an entertainer first and foremost, which he learned from his childhood idols Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Lee, and Frank Sinatra.</g:description>

<g:title>"My Damage: The Story of a Punk Rock Survivor" by Keith Morris (Author), Jim Ruland (Da Capo)</g:title>
<g:description>Keith Morris is a true punk icon. No one else embodies the sound of Southern Californian hardcore the way he does. With his waist-length dreadlocks and snarling vocals, Morris is known the world over for his take-no-prisoners approach on the stage and his integrity off of it. Over the course of his forty-year career with Black Flag, the Circle Jerks, and OFF!, he's battled diabetes, drug and alcohol addiction, and the record industry . . . and he's still going strong.

My Damage is more than a book about the highs and lows of a punk rock legend. It's a story from the perspective of someone who has shared the stage with just about every major figure in the music industry and has appeared in cult films like The Decline of Western Civilization and Repo Man. A true Hollywood tale from an L.A. native, My Damage reveals the story of Morris's streets, his scene, and his music-as only he can tell it. (Da Capo Books)</g:description>

<g:title>Sub Pop USA: The Subterraneanan Pop Music Anthology, 1980 -1988 ( by Bruce Pavitt)</g:title>
<g:description>n 1979, Bruce Pavitt moved to Olympia, WA, and began programming a show called Subterranean Pop on local community radio station KAOS-FM. Inspired by Olympia s guide to independent music, OP Magazine, Pavitt launched a fanzine version of Subterranean Pop, focusing on music with a punk, new wave, and experimental bent. Calvin Johnson of K Records joined the fanzine s staff in 1980, beginning with the second issue.

Driven by the power of independent thinking, the Sub Pop zine s particular field of interest was artists from the Midwest and Northwest. Punk and new wave fans in major cities were puzzled, surprised that there were enough bands in those regions to devote a column, let alone an entire fanzine. Even more puzzling was the exclusion of artists like the Clash, Gang of Four, Blondie, or PIL, solely because of their major label associations. Early issues featured impassioned rallying cries for local action that make more sense than ever today, alongside early published artwork by Linda Barry, Charles Burns, and Jad Fair.</g:description>

<g:title>Sold Out Fanzine Anthology (Detroit Hardcore Movie)</g:title>
      <g:description>

Long before he made the documentary "Dope, Hookers And Pavement" about the early days of the Detroit hardcore punk scene, Otto Buj published Sold Out Fanzine from 1987 through 1990 with the help of his pals Trent, Stefan, Mikey, and Andy. It was arguably one of the smarter, more irreverent, and ambitious fanzines to come out of the whole mid-late '80s hardcore-punk-indie scene, with a focus on insightful, long-form interviews with some of the major players at the time (Henry, Ian, HR, Harley, Brannon, Pushead, Choke, etc.). <g:description>"The Royal We" is a poetic survey of a time set in a magical city that once was and is no more. It is a memoir written by Roddy Bottum, a musician and artist, that documents his coming of age and out of the closet in 1980s San Francisco, a charged era of bicycle messengers, punk rock, street witches, wheatgrass, and rebellion. The book follows his travels from Los Angeles, growing up gay with no role models, to San Francisco, where he formed Faith No More and went on to tour the world relentlessly, surviving heroin addiction and the plight of AIDS, to become a queer icon.</g:description>

      <g:description>
"The Road" is an illuminating selection of photographs spanning iconic punk rock guitarist Brian Baker's many years of global touring with Bad Religion, Dag Nasty, and other bands. The images are intelligent and arresting, reflecting time spent both inside and outside the bubble of backstages and tour buses. The Road is designed in collaboration with award-winning photographer and curator Jennifer Sakai. Music lovers across the globe will revel in a Brian Baker's-eye view of the landscapes he inhabits, and gain insight into the sometimes disquieting and always beautiful imagery that seizes his attention and engages his obsessions. <g:title>Dance of Days: Updated Edition</g:title>
<g:description>By Mark Jenkins and Mark Anderson (Akashic Books).

Washington, DC's creative, politically insurgent punk scene is studied for the first time by local activist Mark Andersen and arts writer Mark Jenkins. The nation's capital gave birth to the most influential punk underground of the '80s and '90s. Dance of Days recounts the rise of trailblazing artists such as Bad Brains, Henry Rollins, Minor Threat, Rites of Spring, Fugazi, and Bikini Kill, while examining the roots of PMA, straight edge, Dischord Records, Revolution Summer, Positive Force, and Riot Grrrl. This book provides a window on the hidden history of a grassroots rock revolution that burst into the mainstream in the early '90s following the success of Nirvana and its groundbreaking album, Nevermind.</g:description>

      <g:title>X-Ray Spex - Germ Free Adolescents (180-gram Black Vinyl)</g:title>
<g:description>X-Ray Spex released their debut album, "Germfree Adolescents," in 1978, featuring the title track, "Germfree Adolescents." The album is considered a classic of the punk era. Vocalist Poly Styrene's lyrics often addressed social and consumerist issues, and her unconventional fashion sense and energetic stage presence added to the band's overall identity.

While X-Ray Spex had a relatively short-lived career, disbanding in 1979, they left a lasting impact on the punk scene, and their music continues to be celebrated for its originality and influence. Poly Styrene sadly passed away in 2011, but her contributions to punk rock remain influential.

This Limited-Edition re-issue of Germfree Adolescents is pressed on black 180-gram vinyl. Incl. 12" insert poster of album cover + sleeve notes by Stephanie Phillips.

      <g:title>Laughing Hyenas "That Girl-Live Recordings 1986-1994" Limited Edition Colored Viinyl + bonus 3 song</g:title>
<g:description>If ever a band deserved an LP of live material, it’s the Laughing Hyenas. As Wolf Eyes’ Aaron Dilloway so eloquently put it, “The Laughing Hyenas were the scariest band I have ever seen.” With their roots firmly planted in Detroit’s Cass Corridor punk rock and hardcore scene of the early 80s, John Brannon (Negative Approach) and Larissa Strickland (L-Seven), along with the locked-in rhythm section of bassist Kevin Strickland and drummer Jim Kimball (and later, former Necros bassist Ron Sakowski and drummer Todd Swalla), the Laughing Hyenas took aggressive rock ‘n’ roll to a completely different plane. Taking pointers from The Birthday Party and Funhouse-era Stooges as well as early blues and jazz artists, the band unleashed a fierce, sulfuric blast of noise all their own. The sinister and hypnotic bass riffs and tribal swing laid the perfect framework for the late Larissa Strickland’s slicing, Jagged guitar and John Brannon’s devilish howl. Though the band recorded three blistering LPs and an array of singles and EPs – much of which was reissued by Third Man in 2028 - before calling it a day, their true legacy lies in their brutal, unforgiving live performances, including countless headline runs, tours alongside Sonic Youth and Killdozer, and myriad college radio sessions across the country. That Girl – Live Recordings 1986-1994 now serves as a long overdue reminder of the Laughing Hyenas’s orgiastic power and one-of-a-kind gale-force fury.</g:description>

<g:title>Descendents "I Dont Want To Grow UP" Remastered on Banana Peel Color Vinyl (Org Music)</g:title>
<g:description>Arriving three years after they burst onto the scene with their iconic debut, Descendents' "I Don't Want To Grow Up" was originally released on D. Boon and Mike Watt's New Alliance Records. The album was recorded after vocalist Milo Aukerman returned from college, and is the first of two Descendents releases to feature guitarist Ray Cooper. It found the band leaning even harder into their penchant for irresistible melodies, often with a much brighter sound than what could be found on "Milo Goes To College."

<g:title>Minor Threat "Out of Step Outtakes" 7" (Dischord)</g:title>
<g:description>In January 1983, Minor Threat went into Inner Ear Studios for the first time as a five-piece (Brian Baker had moved from bass to second guitar and Steve Hansgen was now playing bass). They had six new songs that would end up being the centerpiece of what became the "Out Of Step" 12"ep. There was still blank tape on the reel, so they decided to record an instrumental with the working title "Addams Family," and then recorded new versions of "In My Eyes" and "Filler" to hear what they sounded like with two guitars. "Addams Family" ended up being used as a coda to "Cashing In," but the other two songs were never mixed and largely forgotten for over 35 years until the multitrack tapes were taken into the studio to be digitized in 2021. Surprised by the discovery, vocalist Ian MacKaye and producer Don Zientara mixed the two songs along with the complete take of "Addams Family." These outtakes are now being released on a 7" to mark the 40th anniversary of the release of "Out Of Step."

<g:description>Marking an entirely new era for the storied three-piece — guitarist/vocalist Walter Schreifels, bassist Sergio Vega and drummer Alan Cage — Bring On The Psychics serves as the sonic bridge between the band’s heavy and influential Nineties sound and the ambitious, experimental output contained within its more recent era. Produced and mixed by Jon Markson (Drug Church, Drain) across 10 days, Bring On The Psychics once again finds Quicksand reinventing the sound they helped pioneer. (Equal Vision Records)

<g:description>This 'Punk Note Edition' LP features alternate packaging inspired by the legendary Blue Note label. All is the fourth studio album from Southern California punks Descendents, released in 1987. The record marked a turning point with the introduction of bassist Karl Alvarez and guitarist Stephen Egerton, whose arrival brought fresh melodic ideas and more complex instrumentation through the band's democratic songwriting approach. Named after the concept of "All" (achieving total extent), this album stands as a landmark release showcasing the band's evolved sound and creative direction.

      <g:title>Iggy and the Stooges - "Metallic K.O." (50th Anniversary Limited Blue Vinyl)</g:title>
<g:description>'METALLIC K.O.' is the remarkable album of Iggy & The Stooges confrontational 'last ever gig' (until their reunion almost 30 years later). Effectively the fourth Stooges album with then brand new and unheard songs, it was released in 1976 three years after 'Raw Power' while Iggy was in limbo. Soon after the gig Iggy checked into a mental hospital.

This 50th Anniversary edition on limited transparent blue vinyl has the original LP track list (previously it had been extended to a double-CD with the complete 1973 & 1974 shows it was taken from). In the 2007 CD re-mastering, an original tape-speed error was discovered and corrected - so now for the first time on vinyl the album can be heard at the correct pitch.

The album contains Iggy Pop's story of the events surrounding the gigs as well as contemporaneous reports from Nick Kent, Giovanni Dadomo and Lester Bangs. An essential album in Iggy's history

Nick Kent said: 'I'm convinced that side two is a masterpiece', and Lester Bangs said: 'It's the only rock album I know where you can actually hear hurled beer bottles breaking against guitar strings'.

Tracks: Raw Power; Head On; Gimme Danger; Rich Bitch; Cock In My Pocket; 'Iggy Talks'; Louie Louie. Live at Michigan Palace Detroit, Oct 73 & Feb 74</g:description>

      <g:title>Cramps "Gravest Gravy" (Vengeance Records)</g:title>
<g:description>The LP release “Gravest Gravy” by The Cramps brings together, for the first time, recordings from the Ardent studio sessions of October 1977 that were overseen at the time by Alex Chilton and are now being made publicly available.

<g:description>35th anniversary of Dinosaur Jr's 1991 classic 'Green Mind' album limited edition picture disc.

Formed in 1984, Dinosaur Jr carved a singular path through the latter half of the 1980s, issuing three highly-influential albums in the process before finding a home with Sire Records, who issued 'Green Mind' in 1991 as the alternative American rock scene the band had long been part of exploded globally. Produced by a stripped down line-up of the group (in fact, J Mascis himself plays almost everything), the album and Sire's international reach took Dinosaur Jr's reputation to a new level. This 90s masterpiece hasn't been available on picture disc since its original release and is a must for fans and collectors around the world.</g:description>

<g:title>Explosions in the Sky "End" (Temporary Residence Limited)</g:title>
<g:description>End, the enigmatic seventh album by Explosions in the Sky, was inspired by darkness, but became a loud, dramatic, wild rumination on life and death. “Our starting point was the concept of an ending—death, or the end of a friendship or relationship. Every song comes from a story, or an idea one of us has had that we’ve all expanded on and made its own world. Maybe it’s our nature, but we kept feeling that the album title was ultimately open to a lot more interpretation—the end of a thing or a time can mean a stop, but it can also mean a beginning, and what happens after one thing ends might pale in comparison to what it becomes next,” says the band about the album. End is perhaps the “grandest” Explosions in the Sky album – melding the quiet restraint and crushing feel of their early releases with the sonic texturing and ornate experimentation of their later releases, and their increasingly deep film and television scoring catalog, influenced by personal tastes stretching from classical to soul to experimental ambient music.</g:description>

<g:description>On their debut album, Something to Consume (due Sept 12 via Third Man Records), Ava Schrobilgen, Chloe De St. Aubin, Ellie Livingston, and Kate Halter fight against the inescapable consumption that surrounds life. “There’s a political side to it, but addiction and love can also be all-consuming,” Livingston says. And as the foursome trade off instruments, swapping songwriting and vocal duties, and generating powerful songwriting in concussive bursts, Die Spitz have created their own little pocket of the world where we can all stand on the edge together.</g:description>

<g:description>Lucky for some - it’s seventh album time for Brooklyn’s finest sons, the mighty SAVAK! Sohrab Habibion, Michael Jaworski and Matt Schulz have been fighting the good fight together since 2015, accompanied by a veritable cascade of bassists, saxophonists and second drummers. Of course, they’ve been sending missives from punk rock’s front line for much longer, having served in the likes of Obits, The Cops, Holy Fuck, Edsel, Virgin Islands, Enon and more. Still, what better way to celebrate a decade in each other’s company than by releasing their best album yet?</g:description>

      <g:title>Dead Kennedys-"Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables"-Remastered (GOLDSTATE MUSIC)</g:title>
<g:description>Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables remains as relevant, biting and brilliantly inventive today as on release. What set it apart was its collision of rage, absurdity, and musicianship. Dead Kennedys emerged fully formed: Jello Biafra as provocateur; East Bay Ray with his surf-noir guitar; Klaus Flouride anchoring the low end with his unique bass playing. Remastered from the original tapes, with the same rawness, urgency, and barely-contained chaos. Few debuts define both a band and an era.</g:description>

<g:title>Minor Threat - "Out of Step Outtakes" Red Vinyl Edition (Dischord)</g:title>
<g:description>In January 1983, Minor Threat went into Inner Ear Studio for the first time as a five-piece (Brian Baker had moved from bass to second guitar and Steve Hansgen was now playing bass). They had six new songs that would end up being the center piece of what became the Out of Step 12" EP. The band had also decided to re-record the song "Out of Step" with some extra language to try to clarify the lyrics, as well as "Cashing In", a tongue-in-cheek song about the DC punk scene which they had only played live once. After much debate, "Cashing In" was added as a hidden track on the original vinyl release though not listed on the cover or label. There was still blank tape on the reel, so they decided to record an instrumental with the working title, "Addams Family" and then recorded new versions of "In My Eyes" and "Filler" to hear what they sounded like with two guitars. "Addams Family" ended up being used as a coda to "Cashing In", but the other two songs were never mixed and largely forgotten for over 35 years until the multitrack tapes were taken into the studio to be digitized in 2021.</g:description>

<g:description>Originally released in 2001, was the final release by Northern Virginia-based "mech-core" trio, Frodus. Recorded in the summer of 1999 with Brian McTernan at Salad Days Studios, Weapons is a depiction of life in the late 20th century at the cusp of a major technological and lifestyle transition. In 2009 the band reformed to play select shows and even recorded a new 7" with Liam Wilson of Dillinger Escape Plan on bass. Now, after over 10 years out of print, Lovitt Records is reissuing Weapons on vinyl with expanded packaging, including original lyric sheets/journal entries and candid photos from that last year of Frodus.</g:description>

<g:description>D.O.A. is a Canadian punk rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia. They are often referred to as being among the "founders" of hardcore punk, along with Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, Angry Samoans, Germs, and Middle Class. Their second album Hardcore '81 was thought by many[3] to have been the first actual reference to the second wave of the American punk sound as hardcore.</g:description>

<g:title>VOID “Wreck Your Head” (Bifocal Media)</g:title>
<g:description>In the late 1970s Four high schoolers in Columbia Maryland decided to start a band. They named to band VOID after a Black Sabbath song and proceeded to write and perform an over the top punk/ metal hybrid. Dissonant noise, speed, and chaos ensued. They recorded 1/2 of an LP and released a few compilation tracks on Dischord Records. They didn’t do too much touring and they only lasted a few years as a band. You’d think that was the whole story, but VOID has achieved cult-like status. Their shows, art, demos, outtakes, and unfinished recordings have been bootlegged and fawned over for over 40 years. Everyone from music snobs to crust punks to celebrities seems to have been profoundly moved by these kids. I’ve been obsessed with this band since first hearing them (in high school) on the Flex Your Head compilation and I’m overjoyed to be working with them on various projects, including this official hat/ patch offering. The entire band worked on this (now iconic) logo that’s been reproduced on countless bootlegs over the years. This one is for real and we’re happy that the band is getting paid for it’s use.</g:description>

      <g:title>Necros Fuzz / Distortion - Limited Edition (Daredevil Pedals)</g:title>
<g:description>NECROS. Annihilating Punk rock from the early days of hardcore. They started touring the country as teenagers with the Misfits, Black Flag, Negative Approach, etc…the list goes on forever. To accommodate the upcoming release of their vinyl box set reissue on Third Man Records, the band approached me to develop a pedal. So here we are… welcoming this crushing gem of brutality.

When discussing what this circuit should be… the only real request was for it to be huge and heavy similar to a few of their favorite fuzzes. I thought it would be cool to see how well we could mash up a thick fuzz with a circuit that could still crank out fast, biting punk rock riffs. In a nutshell, it’s an op amp gain stage feeding a silicon transistor driven second stage with loads of clipping and gated nastiness.

The tone is big and thick, leaving you only a single volume control knob. Loads of harmonic sustain and crunchy chug spewing out through some NOS Germanium diodes. The skull knobs are hand poured and then darkened, rendering no two alike. Resting atop the “Houdini” artwork that was initially drafted for the band by Glenn Danzig in 1983. Every pedal in this limited run includes a set of custom-made Necros guitar picks and authentic reprints of original concert flyers from the band's early touring days. Only 25 made!</g:description>

      <g:title>L7-"Pretend We're Dead" DVD</g:title>
<g:description>L7: Pretend We're Dead takes us on an all-access journey into the 1990's grunge movement that took the world by storm, and the band that helped define it as the genre of a generation. Culled from over 100 hours of vintage home movies taken by the band, never-before-seen performance footage, and candid interviews, L7: Pretend We're Dead is an engrossing time capsule told from the perspective of L7, these true insiders who brought their signature blend of grunge punk to the masses! Chronicling the early days of the band's formation in 1985 to their height as the 'queens of grunge,' the film takes a roller coaster ride through L7's triumphs and failures, providing never-before-discussed insight into the band's eventual dissolution in 2001. Formed by Donita Sparks and Suzi Gardner-guitars/vocals, the band completed their lineup with the addition of Jennifer Finch on bass/vocals and Dee Plakas on drums. To highlight the fact that L7 was an all-female group, however, was to miss the point. "Our fans couldn't give a shit if we're women," Sparks says. "We did not set out to be an all-girl band. It just happened that way." Yet the "gender issue" would return time and again for the band; from shock jocks refusing to play "chick rock" to academics accusing the band of "incorrectly" embracing their feminism to hard rock press implying the band was merely riding a wave of "grrl power" trendiness. Despite these obstacles, L7: Pretend We're Dead shows the thread of influence the band had not only on rock and roll but on future generations of women everywhere and is, at the end, a testament to the pioneering spirit of a band that refuses to take anything lying down. "They can't hear a word we said, when we pretend that we're dead" Also includes the infamous 1997 documentary "L7 The Beauty Process" that was directed by Krist Novoselic.

<g:description>In June 1978, The Cramps played a free concert for patients at the California State Mental Hospital in Napa, California. The Cramps were at the peak of their engaging sound. They had just finished recording "Gravest Hits." Midway through the second song, a young woman commands the stage and begins sharing the mic with Lux. By the time the "Human Fly" is played a real ho-down is occurring on and off stage with the audience members dancing about, grabbing at the mic and embracing each other - all of which adds to the spectacle of this once-in-a-lifetime performance! <g:title>Haley Flanagan "Wired for Chaos" (Blu-Ray)</g:title>
<g:description>Harley Flanagan is a Punk Rock/Hardcore legend, known as the father of New York City Hardcore and the founder of the pioneering band Cro-Mags. He has had a cult following since the 80s. While Harley's journey as a musician is certainly explored, Wired for Chaos centers on the lasting effects of neglect, sexual abuse, drugs, violence and the integration of PTSD into his present-day life. This is a film about an extraordinary life, and the survival of astounding circumstances against crazy odds.

Harley was a child prodigy musician, forced to raise himself in the very adult world of Rock 'n Roll. He was born to a Warhol Factory "it" girl, enmeshed in the Lower East Side artist sub-culture of the late 70s and 80s, surrounded by "sex, drugs and rock n roll." Harley was brought to the Lower East Side as a child and left to fend for himself, eventually living in squats in Alphabet City, stealing food and battling local gangs to survive. He descended into the depths of Hell with drugs and violence (as victim and later perpetrator), simultaneously achieving Punk Rock legend status at iconic venues like CBGBs and Max's Kansas City, first as an 11-year-old drummer in the Stimulators and later touring the world as founder and frontman of the groundbreaking NYC Hardcore/ crossover group Cro-Mags.

As Harley visits his friends throughout the film (Flea, Henry Rollins, Roger Miret, Keith Morris, Daryl Jennifer, Michael Imperioli, Matt Sera, Jocko Willink, Renzo Gracie, and the late Anthony Bourdain - to name a few), a layered, complex portrait of life in the late 70s/80s Punk and Hardcore scene set in the violent, drug-filled Lower East side emerges.

"THE DAMNED: Don't You Wish That We Were Dead" includes appearances from Chrissie Hynde, Mick Jones (The Clash), Lemmy and members of Pink Floyd, Black Flag, Depeche Mode, the Sex Pistols, Blondie, Buzzcocks, and more. <g:title>"Positive Force: More Than a Witness" (Akashic)</g:title>
<g:description>Punk activist collective Positive Force DC emerged in 1985, rising from the creative, politically-charged ferment of DC punk's Revolution Summer. Born in a dynamic local scene sparked by Bad Brains, Minor Threat, and Rites of Spring, a handful of young activists also drew inspiration from UK anarcho-punks Crass and the original "Positive Force" band Seven Seconds to become one of the most long-lasting and influential exponents of punk politics.

This feature-length film by Robin Bell skillfully mixes rare archival footage (including electrifying live performances from Fugazi, Bikini Kill, Rites of Spring, Nation of Ulysses, Anti-Flag, and more) with new interviews of key PF activists including co-founder Mark Andersen (co-author of Dance of Days) and Jenny Toomey (Simple Machines, Tsunami) as well as supporters such as Ian MacKaye, Jello Biafra, Dave Grohl, Ted Leo, Riot Grrrl co-founders Allison Wolfe and Kathleen Hanna, and many more. Covering a span of 30 years, More Than a Witness documents PF's Reagan-era origins, the creation of its communal house, FBI harassment, and the rise of a vibrant underground that burst into the mainstream amid controversy over both the means and the ends of the movement. </g:description>

      <g:title>Something Better Change DVD </g:title>
      <g:description>Just released!
A documentary film about the legendary punk band D.O.A. and frontman Joe Keithley's shocking political victory.
Throughout the 1980s, outfits like Black Flag, D.O.A., Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat and the Circle Jerks helped define the decade's deafening hardcore punk sound, paving the way for the eventual explosion of punk bands through radio and MTV in the decades to come. While punk rock's upper echelon may no longer be as culturally seditious as they once were, the genre's effect on a new generation of activists and aspiring politicians has never been more clear.

The Vancouver-based D.O.A. have always been a politically outspoken outfit since first forming in 1978 as teenagers. Their mix of raucous anthems like "Fucked Up Ronnie", "America The Beautiful", "The Prisoner" and others remain classics. The band's 1981 LP entitled "Hardcore '81" was awarded the prestigious Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize in 2019 , which honors groundbreaking Canadian albums from the past, winning out over 11 other critical album releases including The Band's "Music From Big Pink", and Joni Mitchell's "Court And Spark."

The filmmakers followed Joe Keithley during his 2022 reelection campaign to document the amount of work and commitment that goes into running for public office. They were allowed unprecedented access to Keithley's entire campaign throughout its often chaotic and nail-biting conclusion. Ultimately, Something Better Change is a documentary film that proves music, political steadfastness and social advocacy can work together to effect real change just about everywhere--including city hall. Directed by Scott Crawford.

<g:description>One of the best places to work in DC in the 1980s if you were a punk was Häagen-Dazs located in Georgetown. We decided to pay homage and create our own version of the iconic brand t-shirt.

Our Säalad-Dazs shirts come in soft 100% cotton and are available in solid black for a limited time only! </g:description>
